Article on potential health concerns from fluorinated chemicals

For 20 years MBDC has been advocating for products to be redesigned with more attention being paid to the choice of materials used and to designing in the next use cycle for the product after it is no longer functional.

Now more than 200 scientists outline potential health concerns from fluorinated chemicals, urge replacements and tightened regulations in what is called the “Madrid Statement”.

Manufacturers do not believe the Madrid Statement reflects a true consideration of the available data on alternatives. MBDC’s approach is to use the precautionary principle.
