JAY BOLUS is Manager of Technical Operations
for McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry and
as such is responsible for the accurate and
timely completion of all ongoing project deliverables.
Jay joined the company in 1997 and has directly
managed several projects while providing technical
input to several others with companies leading
their industries in the implementation of Cradle
to Cradle Design. Jay provides direct scientific
guidance on all MBDC projects as well as managing
MBDC's growing team of chemists and engineers.
Jay's other contributions to the company include
MIS related tasks, web enabled database development,
and research and development of the McDonough
Braungart Design ProtocolT.
Jay's professional experience demonstrates
a wide variety of interests and skills. After
receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology
with a minor in Business from the University
of Richmond, he embarked on a career as a tennis
professional. Jay competed on the International
Tennis Federation (ITF) professional tour for
two years, playing in tournaments internationally.
In 1995 Jay returned to graduate school where
he received a Master of Engineering degree in
Environmental Engineering at the University
of Virginia. Jay's research focused on the fate
and transport of organic contaminants in groundwater
systems and their interactions with organically
modified clays. Jay has been published in Environmental
Science and Technology.
