HOWIE FENDLEY is Manager of Business Development and Senior Scientist for MBDC and as such is actively involved in the development and implementation of MBDC's Cradle to Cradle^SM Product Certification program. Howie has managed many of MBDC's projects, including collaborations with Haworth, Herman Miller, Nike Footwear, ACCO Brands, Hi-Tex Crypton Green and Icestone.

Howie studied Biochemistry at the University of Virginia, and has applied principles of organic chemistry and biology to the MBDC chemical assessment protocol. Howie is therefore responsible for chemical/material assessment for a large portion of MBDC's Cradle to Cradle product certifications. He also works closely with other members of the MBDC technical team to ensure continuous refinement and improvement of the assessment process.

Howie lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, and has been part of the MBDC team since 2001.
